Oona Myllyntaus is the new executive director of Ars-Häme ry

The Board of Directors of Ars-Häme ry has elected Oona Myllyntaus, M.Sc. (Econ.), as the new Executive Director of the association. She takes up the position in January 2021.

Myllyntaus has diverse experience in the field of visual arts and art research. She has previously worked at the Cultural Policy Research Center in Cupore as a project manager for the Art in Construction project, as an executive director of the Association of Fine Arts Teachers, and as a project secretary in a joint project to develop teaching methods for art schools. Myllyntaus graduated with a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Jyväskylä Nordic Arts and Culture Studies master’s program in 2009, and in 2003 as a cultural producer from the Turku University of Applied Sciences. She was a CIMO exchange in 2004–2005 at the Finnish French Institute in Paris

“I have really taken the opportunity to promote the visual arts in Kanta-Häme. My task as an executive director of Ars-Häme ry is to take care of the protection of the interests of the region’s visual artists, the development of the conditions for practicing the profession and the association’s sufficient resources. I am certain that the importance of visual arts in everyday environment will continue to grow and that interest in contemporary art will increase,” says Myllyntaus.
